Fit Friday! (Introduction)

Hello, Ladies!

We’re starting up a new community challenge/support team for physical fitness!

How it works

Each Friday morning a Fit Friday post will appear on GBG. Throughout the day you can either post to your own blog and link here or post in the comments of the Fit Friday post answering these four questions-

  1. How did you get moving this week?
  2. What was your go-to healthy food item or meal?
  3. What song got you moving?
  4. What are your plans for next week?

#1 can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it.

Monday- I walked for 45 minutes on the treadmill

-or-

Tuesday-

Squats:

  • 40lb x10 
  • 40lb x10 
  • bodyweight x20

And so on.

Screenshots of fitness apps like Fitocracy (as seen on RedPillWifey’s blog) are also an option.

#2 is the same. Tell us you were really digging oranges that week or offer us a great recipe for broiled tilapia. It’s up to you. Keep in mind that ‘healthy’ is relative to people. What Barbara eats may be too fatty for Jean to be healthy and what Jean eats may be too carby for Barbara to be healthy. Please, no “diet preaching”. We’re here to support each other in making steps not to evangelize.

#3 name the song and link to it if possible.

#4 if you don’t know, it’s fine! But having it out there has a way of keeping us accountable. The way I manage my workouts is to set one up for the week and repeat it all week. This is where I would list that set up and the next week I’d report on how I did.

If you only want to participate in #1 and ditch the rest, that’s fine. None of these are mandatory. It’s all meant for us to have some fun, get some support, learn about something new, and hold ourselves accountable.

    Does anyone else here use fitbit or myfitnesspal? I use them but have no friends yet so I would love to get some if anyone wants to connect :) I’m cool with fake names if you have one for internet friends!

  2. Great idea. BTW, I’d like to submit a guest post. Last week I had to interview a woman who was an overweight smoker two years ago. Now, she’s competing and winning awards in body-building contests. She shared some great fitness tips and I have a few amazing before and after digital photos of her if you want to post them.
